Anushka Sharma On Privacy, Then And Now

It turns out Sharma's insistence on privacy for her relationship and family goes back years. The duo married in 2017 but has been together for over half a decade now and was keen on maintaining a low profile even then. In an interview with NDTV in 2014, Sharma made it clear she didn't want her relationship to become fodder for coffee-time gossip.

"We were not hiding anything, we were just being two normal young people who were in a relationship. But being public figures, your relationship becomes a topic of entertainment. For me, it's something very personal and very pure. So I don't want to put it out there for someone to discuss over a cup of coffee. That makes me very uncomfortable," she was quoted saying.
