Udit Narayan
Veteran singer Udit Narayan has landed in controversy after a video of him kissing female fans during a live concert went viral. The clip, which shows him performing Tip Tip Barsa Pani, captures the moment when he takes photos with fans and then unexpectedly kisses them on the lips. The video has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many criticizing his actions.
Following the uproar, several older videos of Udit Narayan kissing female celebrities, including singers Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghoshal, and actor Karisma Kapoor, have resurfaced online. One particular clip from an Indian Idol event shows Udit kissing Alka Yagnik on the cheek, leaving her visibly surprised as she steps away. Another video shows Alka looking uncomfortable when he kisses her again at a different event. A separate incident involves Udit kissing Shreya Ghoshal on the cheek after she won the Best Female Singer award. Similarly, a clip of him kissing Karisma Kapoor has also surfaced, where the actress appears caught off guard.
In response to the controversy, Udit Narayan addressed the issue in an interview, dismissing the criticism. He stated, "Fans itne deewane hote hain na. Hum log aise nahi hain, hum decent log hain (Fans are crazy). We are not like this; we are decent people. Some people encourage this and show their love through this." He further questioned the outrage, saying, "Udaake kya karna hai ab iss cheez ko (What is the point of making a big deal out of this)?"
The singer justified the fan interactions by explaining, "There are so many people in the crowd, and we have bodyguards present too. But fans think they are getting a chance to meet, so someone extends their hands for a handshake, some kiss the hands... yeh sab deewangi hoti hai. Uspe itna dhyaan nahi dena chahiye (All this is a fan's craze; it shouldn't be given so much attention)."
