Twitter Reacts To Film Ardh After Worldwide Release On OTT Platform

Ardh a drama film starring Rajpal Yadav and Rubina Dilaik released worldwide on June 10 on one of the over-the-top (OTT) streaming services. The film is written and directed by Palash Muchhal. 

Ardh follows the journey of a small-town man Shiva, played by Rajpal Yadav, who wants to become an actor in Mumbai, the city of dreams. Despite being a theatre actor, Shiva struggles to find work and support his family. In order to make money, Shiva pretends to be a transgender woman and begs for money on local trains.

Even though Yadav is a phenomenal actor, his playing the role of a person who pretends to be transgender unintentionally parallels Bollywood regularly casting cisgender people to play the roles of transgender people.

Rubina Dilaik’s role as Madhu, Shiva’s wife marks her debut in Bollywood movies.

Currently “Ardh streaming on ZEE5 now” is trending at number 6 on Twitter with more than 15,000 tweets.

A user complimented Rubina Dilaik’s acting and tweeted “Rubina Dilaik will be remembered as Madhu for her great acting skill and the amount of hard work done. She just literally gave justice to her role which is the most important thing to be an actress ”.

Another user called the movie “inspiring” and said that it “showcases the struggle of a man to be noticed in an impenetrable and superficial industry”.

A user praised writer and director Palash Mucchal and said that after watching the film, they believed he is going to “rule the Bollywood industry as a director” and added that the “industry needs you”.

A user wished the entire team behind the making of the film luck and said “Hats off to all of you, the cast, singers, and the whole team behind the camera! You all deserve a raise! You all did a fantastic job!”

Another user tweeted after watching the film Ardh that it was an “amazing movie” and proceeded to praise the acting of the two leads. The user called Rajpal Yadav a “legendary actor” and described his acting skills as “next level”. The user added that Rubina Dilaik nailed the role of Madhu and said that “every character is portrayed perfectly”.
