The Family Man star Priyamani has opened up about the things she goes through on social media. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actor revealed that she has received comments on her body size as well as her dark skin colour. The actor said that there were a lot of times she got body-shamed whether she was skinny or not.

The actor, who played Manoj Bajpayee's on-screen wife in the Amazon Prime Video series, said that at one point her weight went up to 65 kilograms. “I did look bigger than what I am right now. So a lot of people have said, 'Oh, you look fat, you look big’,” Priyamani said.

But even after she lost weight, the shaming continues. The actor said that people are questioning her why she looks thin on screen now and said that they liked her better when she was “fat”. Responding to their various absurd questions, the actor simply said, “Being on the bigger side or being on the smaller side, it is each person to himself.”

Priyamani continued to question their actions and comments. “Why do you want to body shame people saying, 'oh you're fat, you looking like a pig or...' Why do you want to do that?” she said.

The actor also mentioned how she has received comments like 'Oh you're looking black, you're looking dark,' and 'Your face is white but your legs are black' on her Instagram posts. She stated that she herself does not think she is fair but people should change their opinions because black is beautiful.

“I don't believe I am fair, I think I am wheatish," she said as she urged people to not comment on people’s skin colour and body. “Don't comment like this, even if you have something, keep it in your mind. Why do you want to spread negativity that 'oh you're fat, oh you're black or things like that? Don't do it,'" Priyamani added.
