Thalaivi Trailer Out: Kangana Ranaut's Film Promises An "Unbelievable Journey"

Thalaivi Trailer out: Trailer of Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi was released today on the occasion of her birthday. The trailer promises to capture the larger than life journey of actor-politician J Jayalalithaa from cinema to politics.

Directed by Vijay, Thalaivi has been produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh and also stars Arvind Swami. Ranaut had shared a motion poster of the film just yesterday, as a built up to the trailer launch.

Ranaut revealed on social media that she had gained and then lost close to 20 kilograms of weight for this role, all within a span of few months.

"Gaining 20 kgs and loosing it all back within a span of few months wasn’t the only challenge that I faced while filming this Epic Biopic, wait is getting over just in few hours Jaya will be your forever," she tweeted on Monday.

Earlier the actor had revealed that her body transformation and learning classical dance for her role in Thalaivi, had "severly" damaged her back. "I played the first super humangirl on Indian screen, thanks to my body a rare combination of dainty yet strong-looking, in my 30’s I had to gain 20 kgs for ‘Thalaivi’ and do Bharatnatyam, it left my back severely damaged but no bigger gratification than to play a role to perfection."
