November is all set to bring with it a slate of film offerings you can enjoy with friends, family or alone every weekend. Or weekday. The cinema of South India has in recent times made for exciting watchlists and quality content, more so with the dominance of OTT platforms accessible more conveniently than the big screen. However, with theatres gradually bouncing back to business, audiences have a plethora of release options to choose from. So dive in!

5 Telugu And Tamil OTT, Theatre Releases You Cannot Miss:

1. Jai Bhim 

Language: Tamil

Release date: November 2

Starring Suriya, Jai Bhim is reportedly based on real-life incidents from 1993 and is expected to be one of the biggest Tamil releases this year. It is a legal drama revolving around the life of a tribal couple's search for justice and Suriya, as senior advocate Chandru, attempting to find the truth. Jai Bhim has received an adult (A) certification owing to its strong content. The title refers to a salutation followers of thinker and reformer Dr BR Ambedkar use, and was reportedly suggested by director Pa Ranjith. Jai Bhim is written and directed by TJ Gnanavel.

2. Sridevi Soda Centre

Language: Telugu

Release date: November 4

A woman-led film, Sridevi Soda Centre stars actor Anandhi in the lead, as the daughter of a soda shop-owning family, with Sudheer Babu as his love interest. A murder in their village brings trouble for them and the plot revolves around the two finding love despite it all. The film also tackles issues of casteism and audiences have lauded it for its powerful themes. Sridevi Soda Centre was released theatrically on August 27 and is looking ahead to an OTT release on ZEE5.

3. Manchi Rojulochaie

Language: Telugu

Release date: November 4

Starring Santosh Shoban and Mehreen Pirzada, the much-awaited Manchi Rojulochaie is getting a Diwali release in theatres. It reportedly follows the love story of the two lead characters; a poster featuring Shoban and Pirzada from a top shot has generated big buzz among fans eager to see their chemistry on screen. On Wednesday, the makers announced the film received a U/A certification.

4. MGR Magan

Language: Tamil

Release date: November 4

All set for a release on Disney+ Hotstar, MGR Magan has Sathyaraj and Sasikumar headlining the drama/comedy film. They play a father-son duo with strained relations who are compelled to come together in crisis when their village is at risk amid a businessman's schemes. Prior to its release, the film has generated much buzz with fans already humming its soundtrack tunes. The film also stars actor Mirnalini Ravi, who has a wide following on TikTok.

5. Pushpaka Vimanam

Language: Telugu

Release date: November 12

A dark romantic-comedy, Pushpaka Vimanam is reminiscent, in its title, of the 1987 National Award-winning film Pushpaka Vimana that starred Kamal Haasan and Amala, and was without dialogues. The 2021 production is, however, based on a news piece debutant director Damodar once read, The Hindu reports. Anand Deverakonda leads the film, playing the role of a school teacher, and Saanve Megghana co-stars. Allu Arjun, among the biggest stars in South cinema, is set to launch the film trailer on October 30.
