Ted Lasso Season 3 Release Date: When Is the Next Season Coming Out?

Ted Lasso Season 3 is expected to air on AppleTV+ soon as the production is scheduled to start in February 2022 as per reports. The American comedy-drama revolves around the story of a Football coach Ted Lasso who has no experience in the sport but arrives to train a football team in England. It is created by Brenden Hunt, Joe Kelly and Bill Lawrence and stars Jason Sudeikis, Brett Goldstein and Hannah Waddingham among others.

The charm of the show lies in the fact that Ted Lasso makes up for his inexperience with ardent optimism. The show stars Jason Sudeikis, Brett Goldstein and Hannah Waddingham among other actors. Ted Lasso is expected to have its third season soon on AppleTV+. The American coach heads to London to train AFC Richmond which is a struggling English Premier League Soccer team.

Jason Sudeikis, the show's star, who is also the Executive Producer, has claimed a number of times that the show is supposed to be a three-season series since the start. “The story that's being told—that three-season arc—is one that I see, know, and understood. I'm glad that they are willing to pay for those three seasons. As far as what happens after that, who knows? I don't know,” he mentioned in a recent interview.

However, reports say Sudeikis has reportedly kept the cast members in the dark about their characters as well by avoiding any information of what happens next.

Is Ted Lasso a real story?

There has been rampant speculation if Lasso's story is indeed real. The across-the-Atlantic relationship and relationship gaps, the dynamics on the soccer field, and the emotions of sport make this series a very alive experience and not far from reality.

It's been clarified many times though by the cast that Ted Lasso "is not based on a true story, but the show does draw from real-life inspirations."

Sudeikis A Jedi Master?

Toheeb Jimoh, who plays the character of Sam Obisanya, mentioned that Sudeikis has been a “Jedi master” in keeping them away from any information about the upcoming season. He said while speaking in an interview, that he has been "trying to extract information from Sudeikis but has been unsuccessful in every attempt."

Ted Lasso Season 3 Release Date

The show is expected to start production in February 2022 as reported by actor Hannah Waddingham. It is speculated that the third season of Ted Lasso will be aired in summer 2022 on ApplyTV+ but the dates are still unclear.

Expected Plot:

Ted Lasso creator Brenden Hunt revealed while speaking to TVLine that the series is expected to include a full soccer season as Football team AFC Richmond might be competing against West Ham in two matches. The first season was based upon Lasso's story of dealing with a new sport and adjusting to a new country while the second season continued the plot. "We’ve never gone from the start of a season , so perhaps that’s something we want to get to." Hunt said.

Co-creator Bill Lawrence also revealed in some interviews that Nate Shelly's (Nick Mohammed) betrayal to AFC Richmond by joining rivals West Ham was a part of a long-term plan for Ted Lasso plot. He mentioned that he drew inspiration from a familiar real-life story of Hollywood show-biz.

As per a report by the the Hollywood Reporter, ted Lasso is set to return to Apple TV in summer 2022. However the makers are yet announce the exact date. Since the show streams on Apple TV, no update has been given from their end as well. The same report added that many actors and writers of the show have renegotiated their contracts going into the third season.
