Tamil actor Radikaa Sarathkumar made the surprising announcement that she will no longer take part in television shows. She was addressing a recent political meet held in Vaniyambadi, Tamil Nadu where she made her decision public.
She has decided to devote more time and effort to her career in politics. Radikaa's husband, also a popular actor, Sarathkumar is the founder of a political party in Tamil Nadu. She is the secretary of the State Women's wing of the party. In the wake of the upcoming state assembly elections, she is looking forward to indulging in a campaign alongside her husband.
When the decision of her quitting the television industry surfaced, the fans were indeed disappointed. But as per reports, she will continue to be a producer, however, she will not be seen on the screen as an actor.
Meanwhile, the female actor assured she will not quit acting on the big screen.
Who is Radikaa Sarathkumar?
Radikaa Sarathkumar has had a successful career in television. Apart from hosting shows like 'Thangavettai', 'Bangaram Mee Kosam' and 'Kodeeswari', she has done several Tamil T.V. series. She is working currently on the show 'Chithi 2'. Not only is acting in the show, but she is producing it too.
Her performances in other T.V shows include the protag in 'Annamalai' and Senthamizharasi in 'Arasi'.
After her debut in films in the 1978 Tamil movie 'Kizhakke Pogum Rail', she has appeared in around 350 films. She has acted in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi movies apart from Tamil.
She received the National Award in the category Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director for producing the 1985 movie 'Meendum Oru Kaadhal Kathai'. Other accolades include Filmfare Awards South for Best Actress and Tamil Nadu State Film Award.
