While the past few years have all been Tabu's glorious years with her impeccable performances one film at a time, 2023 is proving to be extra special for the talented actor. The actor who recently starred in the film 'Kuttey' is all set to feature in yet another big project.
Directed and produced by Ajay Devgn, Bholaa stars Tabu in a pivotal role of a police officer who takes charge to diminish the world of crime, one criminal at a time.
Tabu in Bholaa
Bholaa is the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Kaithi. Directed by Lokesh Kanagara, the 2019 released film went on to become a huge blockbuster. Bholaa explores the story of a father who fights his way in a quest to find his daughter.
The action-drama film is set against the backdrop of one night through which the one-person army fights tooth and nail to do away with the criminals that come his way. Tabu took to her Instagram to make the announcement and shared a new poster of the film featuring her.
Producer Ajay Devgn also shared the news on his social media platforms. Sharing a short teaser poster, he wrote, "Ek Khaaki. Sau Shaitaan’. Devgn will also star in the film in a significant role.
The Tabu-Devgn partnership
Devgn and Tabu who have not just starred together in multiple films but are also great friends off-screen recently gave a blockbuster together with Drishyam 2. While their comedy-drama film De De Pyaar De fared extremely well among fans, Drishyam proved to be a game changer for not just the duo but also revamped the thriller genre in Hindi cinema.
The actors had taken to their social media after wrapping up Bholaa sharing how they finished working on their ninth film together. The film's announcement has already garnered positive attention from fans and the actors' colleagues in the film industry.
Talking about other projects, Tabu will soon be seen in The Crew starring alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon. The film is helmed by Veere Di Wedding producer Rhea Kapoor. Her role as a cop in the recent film Kuttey earned her massive praise and the 2022 released Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 proved to be a huge blockbuster as well.
Bholaa will release in the theatres on March 30, 2023. The film will release in 3D in cinemas.
