T-ARA's Park Ji-yeon Receives Death Threats

Park Ji-yeon's agency has reported the case to the police and requested an investigation into the account that is making death threats.

K-pop idol Park Ji-yeon gets death threats: An anonymous person has sent death threats to K-pop girl band T-ARA member Park Ji-yeon. The unidentified person made a series of posts threatening to harm Ji-yeon. Eventually, the threats made their way to the K-pop singer. The account posting threats on the micro-blogging site Twitter has since been suspended.

“I will decide when I touch and end you, Ms. Park,” wrote the anonymous person in one of their tweets.

According to reports, Ji-yeon’s agency Partners Park has vowed to take action to protect her. It has reported the case to the police and requested an investigation into the account making the threats. Partners Park said that it will be taking a zero-tolerance approach in the case and all legal means will be used to ensure that action is taken against the perpetrator, with no settlement.

 

Who is Park Ji-yeon?

South Korean singer and actor Park Ji-yeon joined the K-pop girl group T-ARA in July, 2009. The band made their debut with the single “Lie”.

In April 2018 Ji-yeon signed an exclusive contract with the Chinese agency Longzhen Cultural Development after her previous contract with MBK Entertainment expired in December 2017. 

Jiyeon would feature in an upcoming variety drama Imitation, which is slated to air in the first half of 2021.
