Special Ops 1.5 release date: After a successful first season, web series Special Ops is back with a second. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the Hindi show stars Kay Kay Menon in the lead as Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer Himmat Singh. Fans have had a long wait for Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story, as season two of the thriller is titled, which is set to premiere after over a year since the first season's release in March 2020.

The upcoming season was officially announced this year in January and a ">trailer for the same released two weeks ago. "The man you know. The story you don't..." a description for the season read.
Special Ops 1.5 is set to reveal the backstory of its lead character, pegged around the 2001 Parliament terror attack Himmat Singh investigates in the first season. Pandey has described the new series as "neither a prequel nor a sequel." The stories share space within the multi-series Special Ops universe.

Actors Parmeet Sethi, Vinay Pathak and Karan Tacker return to their roles from the first season in Special Ops 1.5. The cast has also expanded to include Aftab Shivdasani and Adil Khan. Model and actor Aishwarya Sushmita plays Himmat Singh's partner in the series.
The origin story gives an insight into the lead character's younger days and the events that shaped him into the stoic officer investigating terror attacks in Special Ops. Menon is teamed up with Shivdasani for an investigation that takes them beyond Indian borders and will ultimately determine his place as an officer.
The three-episode series is set for a premiere on November 12 on online streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar.
