SonyLIV August 2022 Releases: Add Maharani 2, Gargi To Your Streaming Calendar

In August, a slew of brand-new series and films will be released on SonyLIV. The OTT platform will mark the release of the Best Film winner at the Kerala State Awards 2022, Aavasavyuham, which will debut in August's first week. The Malayalam movie, which has already received a lot of national acclaim, will now be available on SonyLIV. It will be followed by Victim, a Tamil anthology movie.

The film Gargi, which also received favourable reviews from critics when it premiered in theatres, will also soon be available on OTT. Fans who missed out on seeing it in theatres can now watch it on SonyLIV. Additionally, there is good news for everyone who has been eagerly awaiting the release of Maharani 2, starring Huma Qureshi. The popular series will shortly return with a second season, which you can watch on SonyLIV. Here we have compiled a list of series and films and their respective release schedule.

SonyLIV August 2022 Releases

Aavasavyuhum

The Malayalam film Aavasavyuham: The Arbit Documentation of An Amphibian Hunt is directed by Krishand. It stars Eldose Jacob, Rahul Rajagopal, Zhinz Shan, Sreenath Babu, Sreejith Babu, Geethi Sangeetha, MDR, Nileen Sandra, Ajayaghosh, and Sanoop Padaveedan. Aavasavyuham was awarded the Best Film title at the Kerala State Awards 2022. The movie Aavasavyuham will have its world premiere on digital on Sony LIV on August 4.

Victim

The Tamil anthology drama film Victim is being produced by Venkat Prabhu, Pa Ranjith, M Rajesh, and Chimbu Devan. The film's central theme will be based on victims. Alongside Nassar, Dinesh, Thambi Ramaiah, Natarajan Subramaniam, and Priya Bhavani Shankar in supporting roles, Prasanna, Amala Paul, and Krish play the movie's three main characters. The anthology film will be released on August 5 on SonlyLIV.

Gargi

Gargi is a Tamil-language legal drama film featuring Sai Pallavi and Kaali Venkat in the lead roles. The movie is directed by Gautham Ramachandran. The movie was released in theatres on July 15 and got positive reviews from critics who applauded the cast's performance, the content, the direction, and the social message. The film is presently scheduled to release on OTT. The film will be delivered on ZEE 5 in the second week of August.

Tamil Rockerz

Tamil Rockerz exposes the negative aspects of piracy and reveals the entertainment industry's ongoing struggle to identify the individuals or organisations responsible for the distribution of pirated content. The drama centres on the journey of Rudra (Arun Vijay), a cop who must contend with the passage of time, rowdy spectators, and an anonymous network of cyberpirates in order to recover a highly anticipated and lavishly funded film from the legendary piracy gang. Vani Bhajan, Ishwarya Menon, Azhagam Perumal, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, and MS Bhaskar will all play significant roles in the series.  The Tamil original series is slated to release on August 19 on SonyLIV.

Maharani 2

Huma Qureshi, Soham Shah, Amit Sial, Pramod Pathak, Kani Kasruti, Vishwa Bhanu, and Anuja Sathe are the stars of the political drama. The drama series depicts the main character Rani Bharti's (Huma Qureshi) conflict with her husband and predecessor, Bheema Bharti (Sohum Shah). Rani Bharti was pushed into the controversial political world from the safety of her rural home's four walls. She is prepared to reign and delivers fair and open governance for the citizens of her state with the start of season 2. The makers have yet to announce a release date for the series, but it will be released in August only on SonyLIV.
