Sonali Bendre had treatment in the US after receiving a stage 4 cancer diagnosis in 2018. She has been urging women to get themselves screened for breast cancer ever since she fought the disease later. Bendre revealed in a recent interview that her chances of survival were just 30 percent and that her social media announcement of the diagnosis has led to a rise in the number of people being tested for the disease.

In 2018, Sonali Bendre tweeted about her diagnosis. She said, in a statement, "Life sometimes tosses you a curveball when you least expect it." I recently learned that I have high-grade cancer that has spread, which, to be honest, we did not expect. A minor ache prompted additional testing, which produced this surprise diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them. "

She continued, "Today everyone is talking about it so casually. Back then, it wasn't like that. So today, I acknowledge its significance and am grateful that I was able to have that chat."
