Actor and singer Jamie Lynn Spears took to her Instagram Stories on Monday night to open up about how proud she is of her older sister Britney Spears for speaking out at a hearing last week. Britney called for an end to her "abusive" court-ordered conservatorship and her sister has extended support to her call. The 30-year-old actor addressed her sister's shocking testimony and plea that she felt forced to perform, take medication and attend therapy against her will after her father was granted control over her financial and personal affairs by court order in 2008.

39-year-old Britney Spears, a mother of two, also revealed that she had been denied the right to have more children or marry her boyfriend because the conservatorship wouldn't allow her. "I just want to take a second to address a few things," Jamie Lynn began. Elaborating why she hadn't come out publicly before, Jamie said she felt that until her sister was able to speak for herself and say what she felt she needed to say publicly, it wasn't her place, or it wasn't the right thing to do.

"Now that she's very clearly spoken and said what she needed to say, I feel like I can follow her lead and say what I feel I need to say," the Zooey 101 star said on her Instagram stories. Jamie Lynn Spears added that she was very proud of her elder sister for raising her voice. She confessed she had previously spoken to her sister about hiring a new attorney and that she is so happy that Britney considered her request.

The sisters have always shared a very close bond and despite their ten-year age difference. Jamie Lynn Spears is reportedly very protective of her pop-star older sister. In her post, she opined that if ending the conservatorship and whatever her sister wants to do will make her sister happy, she is always there to support her one hundred percent because "I love my sister. Always have, always will." Britney Spears might never perform again, here’s why

In her emotional courtroom address on June 23, Britney Spears pleaded with the judge to take her concerns seriously. “I just want my life back." She argued that it’s been 13 years and it’s enough saying she wants to start a family. Britney is the proud mom to Sean Preston, 15, and Jayden James, 14, with ex Kevin Federline. She is currently dating Sam Asghari, 27, and is living with her kids. The personal trainer met the singer when he was in her 2016 Slumber Party music video. Read more here.

Following her remarks, the court praised Britney for her courage in speaking out. The music superstar needs to submit a petition to the court requesting the termination of the conservatorship before any next steps could be taken. They took a recess and has set the next hearing for July 14.
