Not everyone takes ageing graciously as it is stigmatised. With growing age, the ability to have the same old spark is considered to be diminishing. The person's capability is attached to age, which is a bit unfair. So people tend to hide their age- be it, actors or common people, they are hesitant to own up to their age. However, there are stars like Geri Halliwell who believe ageing has its pros also. If it gives you wrinkles, it also gives you experience.

The Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell will soon turn 51 in August. In an interview to OK! Magazine, she stated- her wrinkles are a trade-off for wisdom. According to Halliwell, she has gotten wiser as she grew up. She said, "Age is a gift. I’ve got a few more wrinkles, but I’ve also got more discernment, more wisdom- it’s a trade-off.”

Geri Halliwell's beliefs could be life learnings for others. There is a lot behind being hesitant about openly talking about age. Age has judgements attached to it. We live in a society that has manuscripts for everything. It defines what to do at a certain age; eventually, it becomes the scale to mark progress. At a certain age, if you don't have society-prescribed materialistic things and success attached to them, your whole existence has been of no use. Everybody will keep reminding your experience means nothing if you don't have society-approved success for your age. It is unfair, but that is how it works.

Geri Halliwell also opened up about being picture-perfect for the men in her life. She also admitted to airbrushing” herself for men. She said: “With certain boyfriends I was breathing in, giving them a version of myself that I felt was airbrushed and acceptable, whereas with my husband I’m completely myself." Halliwell's insecurities are understandable because society forced her to perceive beauty stereotypically. The set standard of beauty only develops insecurity.

Geri Halliwell talking about ageing and beauty insecurities will inspire young girls not to fall for beauty standards and embrace themselves for whoever they are, enjoying everything they have at that moment.
