Dr Nene, who is also a healthcare innovator, an adventurer, and a sports enthusiast, is the son of Indian immigrants who had left India in 1962. According to his website, he is on a mission to improve lives and life expectancies by reimagining healthcare through media and technology. “The goal is to walk with everyone and help them develop their own healthcare journey,” says Dr Nene.
Dr Nene took a Scholars Program in Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis where he completed his undergraduate work in 3.5 years. He was just 13 when he taught himself programming on Apple II and used these skills to create a computer software company by the age of 15. In 1999, Dr Shriram Nene got married to Madhuri Dixit. The couple secretly tied a knot in the US, away from the hustle and bustle of Dixit’s stardom in India. The news was revealed to the media a day later on October 18, 1999, by Dixit’s manager.
For the next years after their marriage, the duo stayed in the US where they led a simple life, away from the stardom that Dixit earned in India. However, the couple is now living in Mumbai with their two sons Arin and Ryan.
