Singer Shreya Ghoshal gave birth to a baby boy on May 22, 2021. She took to social media to announce the same.
"God has blessed us with a precious baby boy this afternoon. It’s an emotion never felt before. @shiladitya and I along with our families are absolutely overjoyed. Thank you for your countless blessings for our little bundle of joy," she tweeted.
Many of her fans, and celebrities have congratulated the singer.
Shreya Ghoshal had announced her pregnancy on 4 March this year. She took to Twitter, and posted a picture of herself, cradling her baby bump.
Shreya Ghoshal got married in 2015
The singer got married to her childhood friend, Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya, a businessman, on February 5, 2015. They decided to get married, after reportedly dating each other for a long time.
In 2016, reports about the couple expecting their first child started surfacing. However, Shreya Ghoshal quashed all the rumours. “Ok, I seriously need to clarify now. Thought keeping silent would bury the rumour on itself. But it’s not. I AM NOT PREGNANT!!" she said.
Last year, Shreya Ghoshal and her husband celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary. She shared some throwback pictures from her wedding on social media.
As far as her work is concerned, Ghoshal had recently released the single Oh Sanam in collaboration with singer Tony Kakkar. Before that, she had released the track Angana Morey, along with her brother, Soumyadeep Ghoshal.
She also sang the song Chal Wahin Chalein, for Parineeti Chopra's film, Saina. The singer dedicated this song to her mother, father, and brother. The track was released on the occasion of her mother's birth anniversary. She expressed her excitement for the same in a tweet and thanked singer Amaal Malik and lyricist Manoj Muntashir for their contribution.
