Makers Announce Release Date Of Stree 2, Details Inside

Shraddha Kapoor starrer horror comedy Stree won hearts on the big screen, now makers are coming with Stree 2. On 12 April, Wednesday, makers officially announced Stree 2 at a grand event in Mumbai. 

The actors from the first part of the franchise were present at the event. Actors Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee participated in making an official announcement of the film.

Stree 2 Release Date

The team enacted a skit to reveal the release date of the horror comedy sequel. Stree 2 is slated to release on August 31, 2024. 

Amar Kaushik's directorial Stree was released in the year 2018 and was a blockbuster hit. The first part was hilarious and full of horror elements. Indirectly, it also addressed the curfew times women follow in their daily lives. Shraddha Kapoor is seen playing a ghost. The plot is based on the urban legend Nale Ba (Come tomorrow) of Karnataka which is modified as O Stree Kal Aana (Oh woman come tomorrow) in the film. A witch abducts men at night and only leaves their clothes behind. Rao played the role of Vicky, a ladies' tailor. The trailer will be released soon. 

Rao also did a cameo in Varun Dhawan's horror comedy film Bhediya. The makers of Bhediya also announced the sequel of the film. Earlier, Abhishek Banerjee also hinted about the much-awaited sequel of Stree.

Banerjee said he was thrilled to kickstart this year, but very nervous about JD aka Jana as it had to be similar yet difficult from Stree. However, the character was well-received by the audience. Now the journey of Stree 2 will be super exciting. He also recently wrapped up Apurva. 

Meanwhile, Rao's next is the sports drama film Mr and Mrs Mahi opposite Janhvi Kapoor. Shraddha Kapoor was last seen Tu Jhoothi Mein Makkar.
