Shershaah Review: How Has Social Media Reacted to Sidharth Malhotra As A War Hero

Shershaah Review: Ahead of Independence day, Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra starrer war biography Shershaah premiers today on OTT.

Shershaah the film is based on the life of Kargil War hero, Captain Vikram Batra. The film celebrates his spirit and acknowledges his sacrifices in the Kargil War that happened in 1999. Shershaah was his code name in the army. Advani plays the role of his fiancee Dimple Cheema.

The film was first announced in 2018, and was preparing for a theatrical release following the COVID-19 restrictions is now releasing directly on OTT. It is helmed by Vishnu Varadhan, his first Bollywood film, and co-produced by Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment. Apart from Advani and Malhotra the film also has Shiv Panditt, Shataf Figar, Pawan Chopra, Anil Charanjeett, Sahil Vaid, Nikitin Dheer, Raj Arjun, and Pranay Pachauri.

As the reviews pour in both the lead actors are getting much appreciation for the hard work they have put in.

On August 7 Malhotra had tweeted, that the story of the film Shershaah is very close to his heart. And that "it was an honour to live the life of this brave heart and re-create his journey for you."

Shershaah releases on Amazon Prime Video a day ahead of another war film, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, starring Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi in the lead roles.
