Tu Yaa Main: What Is Shanaya Kapoor & Adarsh Gourav’s Thriller About?

Shanaya Kapoor is gearing up for her Bollywood debut with Tu Yaa Main, a newly announced thriller that blends romance with suspense. The film, featuring Kapoor alongside Adarsh Gourav, was officially announced with a teaser released on March 11. Tu Yaa Main is scheduled to be released next year on Valentine's Day.

The teaser offers glimpses of hauntingly beautiful backwaters, setting the stage for a story that intertwines love, fear, and survival. The narrative explores the clash of two individuals from vastly different socio-economic backgrounds, shaping their contrasting worldviews and adding layers to the story.

With a team comprising filmmaker Himanshu Sharma, writer Abhishek Bandekar, and director Bejoy Nambiar, expectations are high. Himanshu Sharma is widely recognised for his work on the Haseen Dillruba franchise, Bejoy Nambiar is known for his thriller Shaitan, while Adarsh Gourav has earned praise for projects like The White Tiger and Superboys of Malegaon. The film is scheduled to release on Valentine’s Day 2026, making it a much-anticipated romantic thriller. 

Before Tu Yaa Main hits the screens, Kapoor will first be seen in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan alongside Vikrant Massey. Based on Ruskin Bond’s beloved short story The Eyes Have It, the film revolves around an unusual love story between a blind musician, played by Massey, and a theatre artist, portrayed by Kapoor.

The film’s screenplay has been crafted by renowned writers Niranjan Iyengar and Mansi Bagla. Produced under Mini Films by Mansi and Varun Bagla, this marks their second collaboration with Vikrant Massey after Forensic.

 The film’s shooting has officially wrapped, and Kapoor shared her excitement on social media, writing, “Love, Deception & Surprise— A package is on its way. #AankhonKiGustaakhiyan shoot wraps. See you on the big screen soon!”

For those unfamiliar, Shanaya Kapoor was originally set to make her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar's Bedhadak, co-starring Lakshya Lalwani and Gurfateh Pirzada. However, the project was reportedly shelved for undisclosed reasons. In addition to Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan and Tu Yaa Main, Shanaya is also expected to star in the upcoming web series Student of the Year, backed by Johar's Dharma Productions.
