Taapsee Pannu plays the leading role in the movie based on the life of Mithali Raj, a former Test and ODI captain of the Indian women's national cricket team. It details Mithali's life's highs and lows as well as its proudest moments. Raj led the women's national cricket team in both Test and ODI matches. During the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup, she led India to the finals. Her hardships and triumphant ascension in women's cricket are depicted in the biography.

Shabaash Mithu Cast:

In this upcoming biopic based on the Indian cricketer Shabaash Mithu, Taapsee Pannu will play cricketer Mithali Raj. In this movie, the actor—who has already been in many sports movies, like Rashmi Rocket, Soorma, and even Saand Ki Aankh—will play a cricket player. Taapsee Pannu underwent a significant metamorphosis for the movie since playing a sportsperson is something actors need to prepare for can do with ease. A week before, the actress shared a video on Twitter that showed how she changed into a renowned cricketer for her biography.

The other Shabaash Mithu cast is Vijay Raaz. He is seen playing the role of Mithali Raj's (Taapsee Pannu) coach while she was at a young age. The director of the film is Srijeet Mukherji. The other Shabaash Mithu cast are Asad Ali Palijo, Mumtaz Sorcar and Devadarshini.

On June 9, Mithali Dorai Raj made her retirement announcement, ending a career that had started before the year 2000. As one of only six women to do so, Mithali started her 16-year-old ODI match with an unbeaten century. She retired from cricket having scored 7,805 runs, the most by a female player.

After the early volatility of the first 20–30 matches, the 39-year-batting old's average has stayed above 40. In ODIs, Mithali finished her career with an average of 50.68.
