Satish Kaushik Death: Daughter Vanshika Remembers Actor With Throwback Photo

Satish Kaushik, the actor, writer, and director passes away today at the age of 66. Anupam Kher, his closest friend announced this heart-breaking news on Twitter referring to Satish Kaushik as, ‘my best friend.’

Former celebrity, Satish Kaushik, travelled to Delhi to celebrate Holi. He became restless there and was rushed to the Fortis hospital. The physicians there made several attempts to resuscitate him, but he tragically passed away. 

His corpse was then sent to Deendayal Hospital for an autopsy. Satish Kaushik's body was transported to Mumbai to perform his last rites.

He was cremated in Mumbai on March 9 in presence of his family and friends. Kaushik's 10-year-old daughter Vanishka recently shared a photograph with her late father on her Instagram handle. For the caption, she chose a red heart emoji.

The entire nation is in disbelief and mourning after hearing the news. His early films, including Jaane Bhi Do Yaro, Mandi, and Woh 7 Din, had a significant impact on Indian Cinema. Other notable roles he played include Udta Punjab, Deewana Mastana, Scam 1992, Mr. India, Chhatriwali, Sharmaji Namkeen, and Chhalaang. Satish Kaushik became a well-known actor thanks to his portrayal of the endearing Calendar in the Mr. India classic from 1987. 

The public liked his depiction as the goofy but adorable sidekick to Anil Kapoor's eponymous character right away, and the movie went on to become one of the most cherished Hindi movies of all time.

Kaushik made the switch to directing with Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja as his first directorial movie. Some of his well-known films as a filmmaker include Tere Naam and Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain. Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Badhaai Ho Badhaai, and more films were directed by him.

On March 7 in Mumbai, renowned lyricist-author Javed Akhtar hosted the annual Holi celebrations, and Kaushik's last tweet on his official Twitter account was a collection of images from those events. Several Bollywood actors expressed their astonishment on social media after hearing the news of his passing. Former co-stars and friends of the late actor posted condolences to the Kaushik family and their favourite memories of the actor on their social media accounts.

His wife Shashi Kaushik and 11-year-old surrogate daughter Vanshika Kaushik are in bereavement.  In 1985, Satish Kaushik married Shashi Kaushik. He lost his two-year-old son Sanu Kaushik in 1996, and after 18 years of marriage, Satish and Shashi had their daughter Vanshika in 2012.
