Actor Samatha Ruth Prabhu will be making her Bollywood debut and is said to be playing a lead role opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. The actor has primarily worked in Tamil films and Telugu films.

Reportedly, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will play the lead in an untitled Bollywood film by producer and director Dinesh Vijan. The shooting timelines and dates are being finalised for the upcoming film. Prabhu will star in her Bollywood debut alongside Khurrana and according to reports the film’s shooting should commence by the end of 2022 and will release in 2023.

Prabhu is known for her role in the second season of the web series The Family Man and her cameo as a dancer in Pushpa: The Rise. The actor is also set to work with actor Taapsee Pannu, who will be producing a film that would star Prabhu in the lead role.

The actor will also reportedly be making her Koffee with Karan debut, the talk show hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar.

The 35-year-old actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has worked in the Telugu and Tamil film industries and is the recipient of four Filmfare Awards South and six South Indian International Movie Awards. Prabhu worked as a model while she pursued her degree in commerce and made her acting debut in the Telugu film Ye Maaya Chesave.

For her work in her debut film, Prabhu was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress and a Nandi Award. Prabhu also performed in the Tamil film Neethaane En Ponvasantham and the Telugu film Eega in 2012. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu in 2012 and became the second female actor to win both awards in the same year.

Prabhu made her debut in television in 2020 when she hosted an episode of the Telugu version of the reality television series Bigg Boss 4. She also hosted a talk show Sam Jam that same year.

In 2021, Prabhu starred in the second season of the Hindu web series The Family Man, marking her web-series debut. She also performed her first dance number in the film Pushpa: The Rise for the song Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava.
