Sakshi Tanwar To Make Comeback With Anushka Sharma's Mai

Sakshi Tanwar: Actor and producer Anushka Sharma took to social media to announce her new venture- Mai.

Mai is going to be yet another web-series produced by Sharma's production banner Clean Slate Filmz, a company she runs with her brother Karnesh Sharma. The actor introduced Sakshi Tanwar as the protagonist of the show. According to Sharma, the series Mai is going to be Sakshi Tanwar's character who is "47-year-old wife and mother".

Tanwar was last seen in the big-budget film Dangal where she was starred against Aamir Khan. Like her upcoming series, Dangal also had her playing the role of a wife and mother of two talented daughters who made their mark in the wrestling game.

Tanwar became a household name with Ekta Kapoor iconic television serial named Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki. In the show, she played the role of a typical Indian woman who is obedient towards her in-laws and husband. The show ran for several years and had many refer to Sakhi Tanwar as her character Parvati.

Sakshi came back with another hit show on television named Bade Ache Lagte Hain. She was cast against Ram Kapoor and the two played the role of couples who married each other at a much older age. The non-young love story made many viewers hooked to the show as it was also a very unconventional story being aired on national television. The show had also drawn some criticism as it had a scene when Ram and Sakhi were seen making under the sheet.

She later joined the cast of many popular shows on Indian television such as Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, Balika Vadhu and Crime Patrol.
