Saina Nehwal biopic: It’s official, Parineeti Chopra-starrer, the biopic on badminton champion Saina Nehwal is all set to release in theatres in March.
Announcing the release date of the biopic, Chopra took to Instagram and shared, "SAINA! In cinemas 26th March." The Hasee Toh Phasee actor is high on success as she has two releases lined up in the month of March starting with Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar followed by the sport biopic titled Saina, directed by Amole Gupte.
Chopra will be playing Saina in the film. "Presenting the inspiring story of one of India’s greatest athletes, Saina. In cinemas on 26th March," T-Series confirmed the news on Twitter.
Earlier, Hindustan Times had quoted Chopra as saying, “This project is absolutely perfect for me. Amole (Gupte, director) sir and his team are ensuring I have everything that I need. A great physio team and world-class players have been roped in to train and condition me. Everything from how Saina plays, who she has played with and against, every match she has been in has been documented. It’s important to imbibe all that information and present it on screen. I’m happy, but also very nervous.”
In 2019, Nehwal had shared Chopra's intense look from her biopic, calling the lead actor her "lookalike".
“My lookalike @ParineetiChopra #sainamovie,” Saina had shared on Twitter. The shooting of the film started in 2019 after Chopra underwent intensive training to play the badminton player. Chopra's recent psychological murder mystery The Girl On The Train premiered on Netflix on February 26.
