Over the years, there have been reports of Sawant having a husband although netizens doubted the veracity of those claims. She was briefly linked to Elesh Parujanwala, a contestant on her groom-selection show Rakhi Ka Swayamwar. In 2018, Sawant and online personality Deepak Kalal announced their marriage, much to the shock of fans. Some reports claimed the alleged wedding was fake. Kalal in further interviews confirmed the announcement was a gimmick.

In 2019, Sawant reportedly married a businessman named Ritesh, whose identity has never been made public. While some deem it another publicity stunt, Sawant's brother maintains, as quoted by Times of India, that Ritesh is "not a fictional character... He exists and is very much there in Poland."
