Netflix Series Resident Evil Release Schedule Announced, Details Here

Based on the Japanese video game development company Capcom,  the video game series, Resident Evil is now adapted into a Netflix American action horror television series by the same name. After the animated miniseries Infinite Darkness, Resident Evil is the franchise’s second television adaptation and its eighth live-action adaptation overall. The game’s storyline serves as the backstory and foundation for the series, which takes place in its own unique environment.

Lance Reddick portrays Albert Wesker in the television series, Ella Balinska and Adeline Rudolph play Wesker’s adopted children, Tamara Smart and Siena Agudong play their younger selves, and Paola Nez plays Evelyn Marcus, the daughters of James Marcus. It switches back and forth between two universes, following Jade and Billie Wesker as they grow up in New Raccoon City and learn about their father’s and the evil Umbrella Corporation’s murky past, and a decade later when Jade makes an attempt to survive the end of the world.

The series is based on the video game series of the same name by Capcom. It’s the 2nd TV adaptation of the franchise after the animated miniseries Infinite Darkness. And the 8th live-action adaptation after the film series of the same name.

Gamers and binge-watchers alike are also excited about the release. Netflix tweeted out at 12.30 AM, “Resident Evil bursts onto Netflix in 12 hours! Just like this Licker burst out of an NYC billboard!” As of now, the tweet has attracted mixed responses from ardent gamers. A user commented, “This only proves one thing: Resident Evil is quite hard to bring into live action. That or producers don’t have enough love for the franchise and they just wanna do whatever they think is better.”

On the contrary, another user, claiming Resident Evil to be their favourite video game, replied, “A resident evil franchise that’s where I definitely park my car Netflix show hell, yeah resident evil is my favourite video game franchise number two being metal gear.” The series is said to premiere today on Netflix.
