Reese Witherspoon reading Unfinished by Priyanka Chopra: After having a look at Legally Blond star Reese Witherspoon’s Instagram, one can easily say that she is a bookworm. She has an online book club called @ReesesBookClub where she reads a diverse amount of books with many other people on the internet. Witherspoon, who loves reading thrillers during the spring, and has chosen Firekeeper’s Daughter by @AngelineBoulley for her spring pick, recently praised Priyanka Chopra’s memoir Unfinished.
The actor shared a picture of her copy o Unfinished on her Instagram story this morning. In her story, she wrote, “My morning reading.” She also tagged Chopra and called her a dynamic, talented, generous woman.
Chopra went on to share Whitherspoon’s story, and wrote, “Means the world, coming from you @reesewhitherspon.”
The actor, famous for her films Legally Blond, Sweet Home Alabama, Walk The Line, Cruel Intentions and many others recently celebrated her 10 year anniversary with her husband Jim Toth.
Priyanka Chopra published her memoir Unfinished, on February 9 this year. The book has received very positive reviews and is being been talked a lot about in the book community. The actor recently appeared on Oprah Winfrey‘s Super Soul Sunday show, where she spoke about writing her memoir, her marriage to singer Nick Jonas and her secular upbringing.
In Unfinished, Chopra has written about facing racism and how she was once to told by a film director that she needed to get a “boob job”. Writing that she felt “saddened and frustrated” by the workings of the industry in the early part of her career, Chopra also recounted the time when she was to perform a sultry song, which needed her to strip off her clothes one piece at a time.
The actor had asked the director if she should have lots of layers to take off so that she wouldn’t be “down to skin way too fast”. The director then said that he wanted to speak to her stylist, “so I called him and briefly explained the situation, then passed the phone to the director. Standing right in front of me, the director said: “Jo bhi ho, chaddiyan dikhni chahiyen. Nahi toh log picture kyon dekhne aayenge?” she recalled in Unfinished. Read more on that here.
