Reema Kagti’s Superboys Of Malegaon Set For Theatrical Release; Watch Trailer

Reema Kagti’s upcoming movie, Superboys of Malegaon, is set to hit theaters on February 28. The film stars Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Shashank Arora in prominent roles. It made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 13.

Set in the small town of Malegaon in Maharashtra, India, Superboys of Malegaon is inspired by real events and follows the life of Nasir Shaikh, an amateur filmmaker. In Malegaon, residents often turn to Bollywood cinema as an escape from their daily struggles. Driven by a passion to create a film for and by the people of Malegaon, Nasir rallies a ragtag group of friends to turn his dream into reality.

The film also draws inspiration from Faiza Ahmad Khan’s acclaimed documentary, Superboys of Malegaon. The trailer offers a visual treat with stunning cinematography that plays with sunlight and beautifully crafted sets. It evokes a warm, fuzzy feeling, enhanced by the apex cinematography of Swapnil Sonawane, who also contributed to India’s official entry for the 95th Academy Awards, Chhello Show.

Superboys of Malegaon is an Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Production, executive-produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, and Farhan Akhtar. The film is directed by Reema Kagti and written by Varun Grover. The film has already been showcased at renowned festivals such as the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the 68th BFI London Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and the Red Sea International Film Festival.

The film, scheduled for release on February 28, will be available for global streaming on Prime Video after its theatrical release, making it accessible to audiences in over 240 countries and territories.
