'Exudes Authority': Twitter Users Amazed By Raveena Tandon's Performance In 'KGF:2'

The resounding success of the Kannada film KGF Chapter 2 is no surprise. The film which released on April 14 was the second instalment of the franchise starring Sandalwood’s most popular actor Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon and others; it became the biggest Box Office opener in India.

The Prashanth Neel directorial released in four languages—Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam—apart from Kannada and is now breaking records.  The movie has earned a gross of Rs 134.50 crore in India since it released yesterday. The film also broke the record of day one gross of all post-pandemic films with just advance bookings.

All the actors—especially Yash, Dutt and Raveena—are basking in the success of the film’s release with many appreciating their performances in the film. The sequel which released four years after KGF Chapter 1 (2018) stars Raveena Tandon in a pivotal role as Ramika Sen, a politician.

In an interview with a leading publication, she spoke about her casting. The actor shared that Prashanth met her and Sanjay Dutt when the filming of KGF:1 was in its last stage and her character was not panned out yet but she trusted the director’s vision and agreed to be a part of the film eventually.

“But then I thought about it and the way Prashanth comes across, he's so sincere, he has the conviction, he knows what he's making and he has the vision. So, I said, 'Okay, give me a couple of days to think' and then I agreed to it. So, it was just like that, because when a filmmaker is sitting in front of you and he's so clear in his mind what he wants, then there are no two ways that you won't be a part of the project,” she said.

Her performance as Ramika Sen has left audiences marvelling at her. Twitter users who have watched the film are lauding her.

A Twitter user wrote, “Her screen presence is so powerful. Raveena Tandon as Ramika Sen (fire emoji).” Meanwhile, another user wrote, “has finally got the role which she's intended to play. A powerful one. I don't remember the name of the movie but that movie showed her calibre of portraying a powerful female role.” The user added, “Take a bow, though less screen time but the performance was EXQUISITE.”

Another user wrote that Tandon was “top-notch” in the film and that it was “wonderful to see her talent being respected and utilised in a meaty role.” Simultaneously, another user said that Tandon as Ramika Sen was “exuding authority”.
