Rasika Dugal is one of the underrated actors in the Indian entertainment industry who can often be found playing side characters in shows and films. But she always stands out with her brilliant skill and arresting presence. Dugal was hugely praised for her role in the popular web series Mirzapur where she plays a meek yet bold character with utmost conviction. Dugal's recent performances are worthy of appreciation, let's look at some of them.

Birthday Special: Rasika Dugal Popular Roles

Mirzapur - Beena Tripathi

Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi is one of the most captivating roles in the series. While the plot of the show is based on a gangster family, their rivalry and the politics around it, Beena was the one who was handling everything at the home of the Tripathi family. She was the second wife to Akhandanand Tripathi and quite young to him. Beena represented the state of women in a patriarchal set-up where she had an unsatisfactory sex life and thus an affair with their servant. Later sexually abused by her father-in-law and right at the end of the second season of the show Beena's actual bold self came out when she held a gun to kill. Rasika turned the table for the viewers who are used to watching her in softer roles.

Delhi Crime - Neeti Singh

Delhi Crime is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed web series in the country which showcased the story of the unfortunate rape case of Nirbhaya in its first season. And in the latest season, they focussed on the crimes caused by a ">gang called the Kaccha-Baniyan gang in Delhi and how the police tracked them down. Neeti could be seen as a lower rank officer whose capability of speaking with people helps a lot in the investigation. She was also seen growing from a lower rank to being promoted to a much higher rank for good work and the promotion was not just in her career but her maturity too. In the second season, Neeti was a confident working woman who doesn't apologise for being busy in her life but struggles to keep her husband happy. She knows her worth and in between all the chaos of the crime, Neeti stands out to the audience with conviction.

Manto - Safia

The film Manto is all about the legendary writer and is played by another legendary actor Nawazuddin Siddique. So finding a way to make a mark in such a position requires skill. Safia is a support system for Manto and the problems that he faced were not something a man faces regularly in his life. So the contribution of Safia in such a conflicting time in history was praise-worthy and so was executed by Dugal. Dugal told in an interview that even though there wasn't much known about who Safia was as a person, it did not stop her as an actor assess the role she was playing in the film.

Out Of Love - Dr Meera Kapoor

Throughout the two seasons of this show, Rasika Dugal played the role of a wronged wife looking for clues to a vengeful mother who knows how to save herself and her son from any more wrong happening to them, it is a treat to watch. Dugal at her best runs the show with all the ability she has to execute a role. Her growth is what makes the viewers fall in love with her acting. Dr Meera is strong yet sensitive and always tries to solve things that her husband has ruined for her.

Hamid - Ishrat

Rasika Dugal as Ishrat is one of the best performances, undoubtedly, a tragic yet heartwarming story of a little boy Hamid and his mother who are trying to process his father's disappearance is something to learn from. Ishrat for most of the film is a woman in grief and not able to accept the reality but is growing along with her little boy and that is how the duo overcomes the crisis together. Dugal becomes the representative of all the mothers who often have to pretend to be strong for their children even when their heart is broken in pieces, but she also tries to heal herself in due process.
