Akshay Kumar Starrer 'Raksha Bandhan' Release Date Out

The film will compete with the highly anticipated Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

Raksha Bandhan film Release Date
Raksha Bandhan is an upcoming Bollywood film directed by Aanand L Rai and written by Himanshu Sharma. It's the story of a relationship between siblings. Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar play key roles in the film. Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth are among the regular cast members.

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan (2020), Akshay Kumar announced the film and remarked that it is one of the fastest films he has ever signed. Kumar has also dedicated this film to his younger sister Alka. The film will be produced by Color Yellow Productions in collaboration with Cape Of Good Films and Zee Studios.

Akshay Kumar has shared an announcement with the teaser video. He wrote in his tweet, “Bringing you all a story of the purest form of bond that will remind you of yours!” 

Bhumi Pednekar also appears in 'Raksha Bandhan,' a comedy-drama film. The film, directed by Aanand L. Rai, is about a brother and sister's love, bonding, and commitment. This will be the second time Akshay and Bhumi will appear on screen together. They previously appeared together in 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.'

There will be no solo release during Raksha Bandhan. The film will compete with the highly anticipated Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Aamir will play the titular character, a slow-witted man with a childish idealism, in the film. Mona Singh and Chaitanya Akkineni also star in the film, which was shot in a variety of settings across India. With this film, Aamir and Kareena have reunited on-screen for the first time in 13 years, 13 years after their hit film '3 Idiots.'

Raksha Bandhan Film Release Date

Anand L Rai began his profession as an engineer, but soon abandoned it and relocated to Mumbai, where he began assisting his older brother, television director Ravi Rai, on television programmes. Later on, he began directing his own productions. He finally made his directing debut with Jimmy Shergill in the psychological thriller Strangers, which was based on Alfred Hitchcock's 1951 picture Strangers on a Train.

Following that was Parmeet Sethi's Thodi Life Thoda Magic (2008). Tanu Weds Manu, a romantic comedy starring Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut, was a box office triumph in 2011. In 2013, he directed Raanjhanaa, which starred Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor, and Abhay Deol in their Bollywood debuts. Tanu Weds Manu: Returns, his 2015 film, gained critical acclaim as well as box office success. Raksha Bandhan will hit the cinema theatres on August 11.
