Radhika Apte recently attended the British Academy Film Awards 2025 (BAFTAs) as her film Sister Midnight was nominated in the Outstanding Debut by British Writer, Director, or Producer category. The actor, who is two months postpartum, shared a behind-the-scenes moment of herself pumping breast milk during the BAFTA Awards, marking her first big outing after giving birth.

Posting a picture, Radhika wrote, “And now my BAFTAs reality…”  Acknowledging her team’s support, she thanked Natasha Malhotra for making her BAFTA attendance possible, sharing, “I have to thank Natasha for making it possible for me to attend the BAFTAs. She scheduled the itinerary around my breast pumping timings. She not only accompanied me to the washroom to express milk but more importantly brought me champagne in the loo, It’s hard as is to be a new mum and work, this level of care and sensitivity is rare in our film industry and much appreciated. ”

Marking her first major event just two months postpartum, Radhika reflected on the experience, writing, “Sister Midnight at the BAFTAs. Big congratulations to @deathpunkbaby for the nomination… first big outing after birth… 2 months postpartum… 2 hours of sleep… I couldn’t have done it without the fabulous people in the team. THANK YOU.”

Radhika welcomed her first child with British violinist and composer Benedict Taylor in December, 2024. The actor had previously revealed her pregnancy while attending the screening of Sister Midnight at the BFI London Film Festival in October, 2024.

About Sister Midnight

Sister Midnight is a horror-comedy film about Uma, a newlywed woman trapped in an unhappy arranged marriage who uncovers her wild side. Directed and written by Karan Kandhari, the film stars Radhika Apte as Uma, Ashok Pathak plays Gopal, and Chhaya Kadam and Smita Tambe also feature in key roles.
