In her memoir Unfinished, she revealed that she was supposed to perform a seductive dance number in a film. The director stated that “Jo bhi ho, chaddiyan dikhni chahiyen. Nahi toh log picture kyon dekhne aayenge?” which translates to “whatever happens, panties should be seen. Otherwise, why would people come to watch the movie?”

After being demeaned by the director, Chopra said that she quit the film the very next day. She mentioned that even though she had a strong sense of self-worth from a young age, she did not call out the director as she was scared. Chopra stated that “I was so scared. I was new in the entertainment business and girls are always told that ‘you don’t want to get a reputation of being hard to work with.’ So I worked within the system.”

Priyanka Chopra’s memoir Unfinished was described as a “collection of personal essays, stories, and observations”. The book chronicles moments from Chopra’s life and career. It was released on February 9, 2021, and reached The New York Times Best Seller list in the Unites States. The memoir topped the Nielsen BookScan best seller list in India.
