Pondicherry OTT release date was dropped online recently. The Marathi film directed by Sachin Kundalkar is a drama that is shot entirely on a smartphone. The film made its theatrical release on February 25, 2022, and is all set to release for online viewers on the Over-The-Top platform.

The film stars Sai Tamhanker as Nikita, Amruta Khanvilkar as Manasi and Vaibhav Tatwawadi as Rohan in the lead roles. Mahesh Manjekar, Neena Kulkarni, Bhupendra Singh Jadawat and Tanmay Kulkarni, are also part of the film.

One of the most talked-about films for the past three years it is India's first feature film that has been shot entirely on a smartphone. The camerawork is by Milind Jog.

The film is about Nikita played by Tamhanker, who runs a homestay in Pondicherry. During the film's run time, she hosts Rohan, played by Tatwawadi as the guest. The film revolves around a drama where Rohan is trying to charm and become friends with her and the hook is - will she?

But it is not as simple as the synopsis of the film makes it sound. It delves into the complexities of relationships while creating an end sequence that is not jarring, sad or reality on the audience's face, but it is more comforting and hopeful.

The film is written by Tejas Modak and Kundalkar. The narrative is not just Nikita and Rohan, but also about Manasi. One had just gotten divorced, the other is a wife waiting for her husband as he was in an accident but never declared dead while the other character is forced to agree to a bad marriage by her mother. All these three characters meet in Pondicherry.

Pondicherry OTT Release Date

After its theatrical success, the film is going to make its way to the OTT platform. It is scheduled to release on March 18. You can watch it on Planet Marathi OTT.
