Phoebe Dynevor To Play Role Of British Ceramic Artist Clarice Cliff In The Colour Room

The story will revolve around a young worker in the factory, whose ambition makes her move from one factory to another, despite the financial impact at her house, where she lives with her widowed mother and her youngest sister Dot.

The other cast includes  Matthew Goode, David Morrissey, Darci Shaw, Kerry Fox, and Luke Norris.

In an interview, Dynevor stated that “ I am so excited to be joining the cast of The Colour Room, especially in the role as one of the nation’s most celebrated artists, Clarice Cliff. It is truly such an honour to take on such a remarkable character. The script is a beautifully written contemporary take on the 20th century, and I feel proud to be working with such a strong female team, both in front and behind the camera."

The story will revolve around a young worker in the factory, whose ambition makes her move from one factory to another, despite the financial impact at her house, where she lives with her widowed mother and her youngest sister Dot. With lots of ideas for colours and shapes, she manages to impress the factory owner  Colley Shorter played by Matthew Goode. The film will depict the journey of a determined hard working woman, who became one of the greatest Art Deco designers. 

The film is written by Clarie Peate and will be directed by Claire McCarthy. The film is produced by Thembisa Cochrane and Georgie Paget, in association with Denair Motion Picture Poetry and the co-producer is Neil Jonas.
