The trailer of Shah Rukh Khan's much-anticipated film Pathaan is finally out. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.
Touted to be an out-and-out action spectacle, Pathaan is a part of Aditya Chopra’s spy universe, which also includes Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff’s War, and Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Tiger franchise.

The trailer sees Shah Rukh Khan playing a RAW agent who has been re-appointed after a hiatus after the Indian government senses danger from its neighbouring country. He is joined by Deepika Padukone on his mission. John is the primary antagonist in the film. Salman Khan is reported to make an extended cameo appearance in the movie. Vishal-Shekhar composed the soundtrack for Pathaan, and Ankit and Sanchit Balhara wrote the background music. The film is scheduled to open on January 25 in cinemas.
The trailer comes days after CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi confirmed that some changes had been suggested in the film. “Certification as per the right category is important and the committee made sure that due care is taken in terms of the film’s age appropriateness for the relevant category. Also, the makers have been advised modifications in the film with a balanced and holistic view as per the CBFC guidelines,” he had said in a statement.
To announce the release date of Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan shared several posters on his Twitter handle. In the new poster, Shah Rukh is seen in the middle of an action scene with handcuffs around his wrist and a gun in his hand. He also looks injured and is bleeding from his forehead. A brand new poster with John was also released by the superstar, showing the actor in a distressed state. The actor also wrote, “She is on a mission too,” in response to sharing Deepika Padukone’s brand-new poster.
