Parineeti Chopra on Body-shaming: Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra, who is currently basking in the glory of her latest film Saina, severely criticised the act of body-shaming.
After being nitpicked over her weight, the actor herself underwent a drastic weight-loss a couple of years ago.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Chopra denounced body-shaming and said, “Body-shaming is the most ridiculous thing on earth.”
Chopra further explained that every human being should strive to be their fittest rather than being skinniest. “You can be fit at your body type,” she further added.
However, while recalling the time when she was under microscope for the way her body looked, the Kesari actor mentioned that she agrees with the criticism she faced. Parineeti Chopra, who flexed her transformation in a photoshoot, stated that she was aware that she wasn’t looking her best.
“I agreed with them that I wasn’t looking my best,” she said.
In addition, the Hindi film actor told the publication that the criticism didn’t affect her. “I think I would have gotten hurt if I was doing everything that I could and I was really my fittest, and then people didn’t like the way I looked.,” she mentioned.
In 2016, Parineeti Chopra took to social media to reveal that although the “bollywood pressure” made her lose weight, she is glad that she had that “pressure”.
“I am able to achieve what I couldn’t achieve otherwise.,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
On the professional front, Parineeti Chopra’s recent film titled Saina released on March 26. The 32-year-old actor portrays the role of ace Badminton player Saina Nehwal in the biopic.
