Palak Tiwari, who is the daughter of television star Shweta Tiwari, is making her Hindi film debut with the horror-thriller, Rosie: The Saffron Chapter, which is based on a real-life event.

The makers unveiled the new teaser of the film that hints at an eerie love story. Although the teaser didn’t reveal any visuals from the film, a voiceover suggests a spine-chilling story at store. 

“Agar bhagwan har jagah hota hai, toh pyaar bhi har jagah hota hai. Kehte hai, pyaar mein khuli aankh se sapne dikhte hai. Meri mushkil yeh thi ki mera sapna sach ho gaya (If God exists everywhere, so does love. They say, you dream with open eyes when you are in love. My problem was that my dream came true),” a voiceover said. 

Rosie: The Saffron Chapter features Arbaaz Khan and Mallika Sherawat alongside the lead Palak Tiwari. The film is backed by actor Vivek Oberoi’s company Oberoi Mega Entertainment and Prerna V Arora. The horror film went on floors in December 2020 in Pune and now it has got into the final schedule.

  • Rosie: The Saffron Chapter is reportedly India's first horror-thriller based on true events.
  • The upcoming film is planned as a horror-thriller franchise. The first part named The Saffron Chapter will focus on the Saffron BPO located in Gurugram. 
  • This BPO is reportedly built on top of a graveyard and is named among the most haunted places in the city.
  • The story revolves around an employee of the BPO named Rosie, who mysteriously disappeared. According to legend, when her friends traced her family they claimed that the girl had died more than 8 years ago. 
  • Certain portions of the film will be shot in locations that are considered to be the most haunted places in India.
  • The horror-thriller also stars Vivek Oberoi, who is co-producing the film under his banner, Oberoi Mega Entertainment, in a pivotal role. 
  • Speaking of the project, Vishal Mishra, the writer-director said, “In a country full of supernatural powers, we rarely see horror movies based on real-life events” With Rosie, I’m hoping to break those ground rules”.
