Messi - the canine star of the Oscar-nominated film, The Anatomy of a Fall, is famous for his role as Snoop in the true-story-inspired French courtroom drama. Dog From 'Anatomy Of A Fall' Steals The Show

Messi was spotted with his trainer Laura Martin Contini at the event's night and was popular amongst other celebrities including Ryan Gosling who was snapped waving at him during the luncheon. NEON, who distributed the film in the USA also shared a photo of Messi with Hollywood actor Bradley Cooper meeting the dog.

The talented canine garnered praise as the star of a true-story-inspired French courtroom drama. Directed and co-written by Justine Triet, the film centres on Sandra Voyter (played by Sandra Hüller), a famous German novelist who is going through a trial in France, accused of pushing her husband Samuel (Samuel Theis) to death.

The estranged couple's 11-year-old son Daniel (Milo Machado Garner) is caught in the middle of the tumultuous court case and media circus while also grieving over the loss of his father. Daniel and his dog Snoop (Messi) share a very strong bond and stand as the only two witnesses to Samuel's death.

At the Oscar Luncheon, Hüller told Variety that she is still perplexed if her role was innocent, but suggested that "the only innocent character in the film is the dog."

While Messi may not win an Oscar, the canine has already clenched at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival for the best canine performance in the selected films of the festival.
