Started Observing House Help To Understand Meenal's Mannerisms: Nushrratt Bharuccha

Nushrratt Bharuccha Ajeeb Daastaans Role : The actor, famous for her role in Pyaar Ka Panchnama, will play the role of house-help, Meenal, in the upcoming anthology film, Ajeeb Daastaans. She revealed that she took inspiration from her own house-help to "get into the character" as she desperately needed a "deeper understanding" to play Meenal on-screen.

Bharuccha said she is playing a completely different and complicated character, Meenal, for the first time in her career. Further praising her own house-help, the Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor said by regularly "observing" her actions she was able to understand Meenal's "mannerisms and characteristics". Calling her a "great reference point", Bharuccha said in an interview "she helped me tremendously to get a deeper understanding of my character in Ajeeb Daastaans."
Bharuccha took to her Instagram and shared a few glimpses of her character. She wrote, "Twists in the story and twisted characters go hand in hand. #AjeebDaastaans premieres 16 April, only on Netflix." The film premieres on April 16 on Netflix.
The multi-starrer film is helmed by several renowned directers and it has created buzz already delivering promising stories. The trailer showcases multiple stories featuring Fatima Sana Shaikh and Jaideep Ahlawat, Shefali Shah and Manav Kaul, Konkona Sen Sharma and Aditi Rao Hydari among others. Bharuccha and her daughter's story is directed by Raj Mehta where the actor plays a house-help who is stuck between reality and the concept of morality.
She added, "Meenal's story is that of an ordinary girl who is struggling to make ends meet, and provide for the best for herself and her sister. I could feel a similarity in Meenal's life and my house help, who too worked hard to provide for her son, with all the opportunities she can. I absolutely adore her because of her spirit of fighting hard, with a sweet smile on her face always."

The Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety actor concluded saying, "She would make all of us feel at home with her fun banter. And, that is what I wanted my character to also portray in the film."
