Nora Fatehi Shares Information About Proning

Bollywood dancer Nora Fatehi took to Instagram to share some information about proning, a technique that can be used to improve the oxygen levels in COVID-19 patients.

“Lying face down is known as proning, it is a medically accepted position to improve oxygenation. If a patient's oxygen levels drop below 94 (when measured at home on an oximeter), the patient can lie on their tummy; this position improves ventilation and enables comfortable breathing," read the post shared by dancer Nora Fatehi.

The Instagram post further revealed that prone positioning has been used for treating patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). It also stated that proning should be avoided by pregnant women, patients with cardiac ailments, and those having spine, femur or pelvic fractures.

Many Bollywood celebrities such as Bhumi Pednekar, Taapsee Pannu, Sonu Sood, Alia Bhatt have been using their social media handles to help people procure essential COVID-19 supplies. These supplies include COVID-19 medications, beds, oxygen supplies, etc.

Recently, former monk, and author Jay Shetty and his wife Radhika Devlukia-Shetty conducted a virtual fundraising event for COVID-19. Many celebrities such as Will Smith, Camilla Cabello, Hrithik Roshan, Jamie Kern Lima, etc, contributed towards it. The fund will be used to help India deal with the COVID-19 situation.
