No matter how much we adore this genre, the series always seems too little. Well, how can 15 episodes ever be enough? But thank heavens, we have the following seasons of some Korean drama series. This year, too, we will witness the renewed seasons of the well-like first instalments of a few K-dramas.

Here are the forthcoming seasons of popular K-dramas:

Hospital Playlist Season 2

After the 12 excellent episodes in the first part of the Korean rom-com series, Netflix is all set for a much-anticipated sequel. South Korea’s highest-rated cable dramas is being renewed by its broadcaster tvN. The K-drama’s main plot is based on five doctors who have been friends since they got admitted to medical school back in 1999. Basically, the story revolves around their friendship and the ups and downs of their relationship. The second installment of Hospital Playlist is expected to deal with the blossoming relationship between Jung Won and Gyeo Wool. Other than that, Seok Hyeong’s future as the last episode teased her ex-wife calling him.

The OCN crime-thriller series will follow the story of detectives at a 112 emergency call center. Here, a “Golden Time” team works to rescue crime victims in the golden window of time before they are likely to be killed. The previous season of the high-rated series featured stories that revolve around crime, murders, and illegal cartels.

Arthdal Chronicles season 2

Set in the Bronze age, two primary tribes- The Sarams and the Neanthals- are bent upon asserting their dominance over each other. The storyline is loosely based on Dangun, the legendary founder and god-king of the first Korean kingdom Gojoseon. The first season of the  Arthdal Chronicles, which is regarded as the first Korean ancient fantasy drama.

Doctor Prisoner 2

KBC Drama series Doctor Prisoner got top ratings after the release of its first season worldwide. The story pans out as Na Yi-je, a skilled doctor, is forced to quit his job after being accused of medical malpractice. To avenge himself, Yi-je starts working at a prison to acquire enough connections to meet his goals. The upcoming instalment will follow his story.

The Cursed: Season 2

The K-drama series follows the story of Im Jin-Hee, a gung ho reporter, on a quest to uncover the secrets of a violent case involving Forest, the biggest IT company in South Korea. The chairman of Forest,  Jin Jong-Hyun relies on shamanism. Jin-hee’s investigation leads her to So-Jin, who is possessed by a spirit and has a special ability.

Dramaworld 2

Set in the backdrop of Los Angeles and Seoul, the series tells the story of American understudy Claire Duncan. She is a huge K-drama fanatic as her life takes a turn she finds herself within the world of her favourite K-drama, with her crush in it. However, the release date of the show hasn’t been announced yet.
