The popular Jenna Ortega starrer Wednesday has officially overtaken Stranger Things Season 4 to become the most-watched English show on Netflix.

The news came after the over-the-top (OTT) streaming service changed its viewership metric. The OTT platform will calculate viewership by averaging the hours viewed by total runtime.

Let's take a look at how this new viewership metric shows what content Indian audiences love.

Netflix India Top 10

1. Extraction 2

After the blockbuster movie Extraction, Chris Hemsworth is all set to ace another mission with the sequel. 

Extraction has surpassed the iconic 12 minutes non-stop fighting scene with a 21-minute-long continuous fighting scene.

The new mission Hemsworth as Tyler Rake is working on revolves around rescuing his former wife's sister and her kids from the jail in Georgia.

2. Gumraah

Gumraah is a crime drama revolving around a murder where the two main suspects are identical but don't know of each other's existence. 

The main buzz of the film comes from the fact that actor Aditya Roy Kapoor is playing two roles in the movie. Mrunal Thakur and Ronit Roy are a few other primary actors in the movie. 

Directed by Vardhan Ketkar, the movie is a remake of the Tamil movie Thadam.

3.  Extraction 

The Chris Hemsworth starrer's prequel has maintained it's position on the Netflix India top 10 list. 

Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a black market mercenary and former soldier, is hired to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned Indian drug lord. 

The story takes place in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where Tyler finds himself immersed in a dangerous underworld.

The film is known for its intense action sequences, including a highly-praised 12-minute continuous shot during a car chase. 

While receiving mixed reviews from critics, Extraction gained popularity among audiences and became one of Netflix's most-watched original films.

4. Scream

The popular long-running franchise Scream is back with its sixth sequel and is ranked in fourth position on Netflix's top 10 in India.

The show combines elements of horror, mystery, and dark comedy as the characters navigate a series of murders while trying to uncover the identity of the killer.  

Courtney Cox, Neve Campbell, Mellisa Barrera and Jenna Ortega are a few of its primary cast.

5. Tu Jhoothi Mai Makkar

The Bollywood multi-starrer film Tu Jhooti Mai Makkar stars Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Anubhav Singh Bassi, Boney Kapoor, Hasleen Kaur, Amber Rana, Dimple Kapadia, Monica Chaudhary, Rajesh Jais and Inayat Verma as its primary cast. 

The movie is a classic romantic comedy and is directed by Luv Ranjan.

6. Kathal

Directed by Yashowardhan Mishra, Kathal is a witty sardonic drama, where two relished 'Kathals' i.e. jackfruits go missing. While the police force and politicians focus on the missing Kathals, Sanya Malhotra's character, an inspector uncovers that a girl has gone missing.

7. 65

Sony Pictures has released the movie 65, which is directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. The film is full of action and thrill, along with a splash of science in it.

The Adam Driver and Ariana Greenblatt starrer follows a pilot who crashed onto an unknown planet, which is prehistoric Earth and attempts to survive and escape the deadly planet. 

8. Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway

Rani Mukherjee's Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway continues to be in the top 10 list of Netflix in India. The movie is directed by Ashima Chibber. 

Neena Gupta and Jim Sarbh are also a part of the cast of the movie.

The film is based on a true story that revolves around a fight of an Indian mother whose children are taken away by the Norwegian child welfare services.

9. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

It is a critically acclaimed animated superhero film released in 2018. The movie tells the story of Miles Morales, a teenager who gains spider-like abilities and becomes the new Spider-Man in his universe.

However, Miles soon discovers that there are multiple versions of Spider-Man from different dimensions.

After the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker is killed by the villain Kingpin, Miles finds himself in a world where other Spider-People from different dimensions converge. 

10. Black Clover 

This is a Japanese anime and manga series created by Yuki Tabata. 

The story takes place in a world where magic is a common occurrence, and people possess the ability to wield it through grimoires, magical books containing unique spells.

The series follows the journey of Asta, a young orphan who dreams of becoming the Wizard King, the most powerful mage in the kingdom.

The anime adaptation of "Black Clover" began airing in 2017 and continued for several seasons and the newest season is on tenth number of Netflix India's top 10 list.
