Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway release date was announced Tuesday by the film’s makers. The Rani Mukerji-starrer is directed by Ashima Chibber and prior to its release managed to generate big buzz among fans. A woman-centric film, it is based on true events and traces the fight of a mother against an entire country, all for her children.

“With the odds against her, this mother must fight it all and more to be strong for her children!” Chibber said, describing Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, which will get a theatrical release on May 20 next year. The film is backed by Zee Entertainment and Emmay Entertainment.

Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway was announced in March this year to coincide with Mukerji’s birthday. The 43-year-old actor said the film spoke of “true human resilience” and dedicated it to all mothers. “This is a powerful story of a woman that needs to be told,” she added.

Mukerji completed shooting for Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, which has been filmed in international locations besides India, earlier this year in October. “Feels like we had just started shooting,” the film’s makers said, marking the occasion. Mukerji has revealed she went through a “rollercoaster of emotions” while shooting the film.

Mukerji’s recent two releases saw her reprise her roles as Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 2 in 2019 and Babli in Bunty Aur Babli 2which released last month.

Among the most notable Hindi film actors, Mukerji completed a milestone of 25 years in Bollywood in November. She was at the peak of her career at the turn of the millennium, with successes like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Saathiya, Chalte Chalte, Yuva and Black. 

She traces her lineage in the prominent Mukherjee-Samarth film family. She is married to director Aditya Chopra and the two have a daughter together.
