Movies to watch this weekend: Are you looking for something to watch this weekend? It's almost the end of the fifth month of the year, and there have been a slew of new releases, both in theatres and on digital platforms, and the entertainment wave isn't going anywhere anytime soon. May saw a slew of box office releases, the majority of which performed well, and the coming month will see a slew of new releases on theatre screens and laptop screens near you.

There are a few new releases in theatres this weekend, including Ayshmann Khurrana's highly anticipated Anek and a few films that will now make their OTT debuts following a successful box office run. If you are looking to binge on some of the latest released series, here we have some suggestions for that too.

Bhul Bhulaiyaa starring Kiara Advani and Kartik Aryan seems to gaining big time at Box Office. Aryan seems to have handled the pressure of the original Bollywood blockbuster's success and presence of the popular faces in the film has helped the audience to not miss the Akshay Kumar starrer. Anek

The political action thriller Anek stars Ayushmann Khurrana in the main lead. In addition to J.D. Chakravarthy, Andrea Kevichüsa, Manoj Pahwa, and Kumud Mishra are also featured in the film in supporting roles. It is set in North East India and follows an undercover cop who is on a mission to bring peace to the area. The movie premiered today in theatres all over the world on May 27, 2022.

Emergency

Emergency is a satirical thriller film released in 2022 in the United States. It's a feature-length adaptation of the same-named short film by Carey Williams and KD Dávila from 2018. It had its world debut at the Sundance Film Festival in 2022. It had a limited release on May 20, 2022, followed by an Amazon Prime release on May 27, 2022, both distributed by Amazon Studios.

Maidaan

Maidaan is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical sports film starring Ajay Devgn as Syed Abdul Rahim, a football coach during India's golden era (1952–1962). Maidaan is directed by Amit Sharma and produced by Zee Studios in collaboration with Bayview Projects LLP. On June 3, 2022, the film will be released in theatres all around the world.

Attack

Attack is a science fiction action film starring John Abraham in the title role. Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh both play key parts in the film. Lakshya Raj Anand wrote and directed the film, which is based on the true events of a hostage crisis. During a counter-operation, John Abraham plays a lone ranger who leads an attack force. Attack premiered in theatres on April 1 and will now be available on OTT platform Zee 5 on May 27.

KGF Chapter 2

The film was a box office smash, and it was released in theatres on April 14, 2022. The Kannada version of K.G.F: Chapter 2 was released with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. This is the second instalment of KGF: Chapter 1. In addition to Yash, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, and Anant Nag. On May 27, KGF: Chapter 2 will be available to stream on Amazon Prime, making it one of the most anticipated films of the year.

Prithviraj

Prithviraj is a historical action drama film featuring Akshay Kumar in the role of Prithviraj Chauhan and Manushi Chhillar in her Hindi film debut as Sanyogita. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Manav Vij, Ashutosh Rana, and Sakshi Tanwar. The film was directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Yash Raj Films. On June 3, 2022, it will be released in theaters.

The second release, Dhaakad, features Kangana Ranaut as Agent Agni, a highly trained specialist on a mission to kill Rudraveer, an arms dealer and human trafficker. On May 20, Panchayat Season 2 was released on OTT, with eight episodes this time.
