'Money Heist: Korea' To Premiere On OTT This June; Watch The Trailer

Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area is an upcoming South Korean television series based on the Spanish series with the same name. Netflix revealed the Money Heist: Korea release date and released the official trailer. The show has the same premise and characters as the original series Money Heist. The series takes elements based on its location and the circumstances surrounding Korea.

It is set in a fictional universe in which South Korea and North Korea are in the middle of reunification. Due to the reunification, the two nations plan to print a new currency that symbolises the joining of the two nations.

Taking advantage of the new currency, the Professor, played by Yoo Ji-Tae, creates a crew of thieves from South Korea and North Korea to steal the money from the mint. The heist will take place on the Korean Unified Mint in a fictional Joint Economic Area.

Money Heist: Korea ensemble cast stars Yoo Ji-Tae as the Professor, Jeon Jong-Seo as Tokyo, Park Hae-Soo as Berlin, Lee Won-Jong as Moscow, Kim Ji-Hoon as Denver, Jang Yoon-Ju as Nairobi, Lee Hyun-Woo as Rio, Kin Ji-Hun as Helsinki, and Lee Kyu-Ho as Oslo.

The series is directed by Kim Hong-sun and written by Ryu Yong-Jae, Kim Hwan-Chae, and Choe Sung-Jun. Creator of the original Money Heist Álex Pina will serve as the executive producer.

The planning for the remake of Money Heist began in June 2020 and Netflix confirmed the Korean remake on December 1.

The spin-off Money Heist: Korea–Joint Economic Area has been split into two parts and will release exclusively on Netflix. The twelve-episode season’s Part 1 will consist of the first six episodes. Money Heist: Korea will premiere on June 24.

The teaser trailer for Money Heist: Korea was released on May 20, 2022, and the official ">trailer for the series was released on June 3 2022.

The original Money Heist series was also split into two parts for the fifth and final season. In the original, the two parts were released three months apart. Netflix's original series Stranger Things also split the fourth season into two parts, with the second part releasing on July 1.
