Playback singer Monali Thakur had to abruptly end her recent concert in Varanasi due to poor management and safety concerns. The stage setup was poorly constructed, posing risks of injury, especially to her ankles during the performance. Apologising to her fans, Monali assured them she would return with a better-organised event.
Monali Thakur Ends Concert Early In Varanasi Amidst Safety Concerns, Organisers Dispute Claims
Monali expressed her frustration with the event organisers, calling them "irresponsible and unethical." She explained the challenges she and her team faced, stating, "I am disheartened that my team and I were so excited to perform here. Let's not talk about the infrastructure and its condition, as that is the management's responsibility. Time and again, I've said that I could injure my ankle here. My dancers have been telling me to calm down, but everything was a mess."
In a heartfelt message to her fans, Monali took accountability for the incident, despite the issues being out of her control. She said, "We were trying so hard because I am answerable to you all, and you come for me, right? So, you will hold me accountable for all of this. I hope I grow so much that I can take all the responsibility myself and never have to rely on any Tom, Dick, or Harry, who are such a waste, unethical, and irresponsible. I sincerely apologize that we have to shut down this show, but I am going to come back for sure. And I hope I can give you a much better event than this. So, forgive us."
The event organisers, however, strongly refute these claims, insisting that they had provided Monali Thakur with all the required amenities and support. However, according to a report from Dalimss_news, the controversy surrounding Thakur’s sudden departure grew as media outlets, sponsors, and event organizers accused the singer of keeping them waiting for over four hours at her hotel.
It was alleged that Thakur refused to engage with anyone, including the press. As a result, the local media reportedly left without conducting an interview or even having a brief interaction with her.
Currently settled in Switzerland, Monali frequently travels to India for concerts and singing engagements. Despite the challenges in Varanasi, her dedication to her fans and commitment to delivering quality performances remain unwavering.
