Modern Love Mumbai is an anthology series consisting of six different stories set in the backdrop of Mumbai, the city of dreams. The stories explore love and relations of all sorts like romantic, self-love, platonic, familial, parental, sexual and marital. The six stories are titled Raat Rani, Baai, Mumbai Dragon, My Beautiful Wrinkles, I Love Thane and Cutting Chai and are directed by six different directors namely Shonali Bose, Hansal Mehta, Vishal Bharadwaj, Alankrita Srivastava, Dhruv Sehgal and Nupur Asthana respectively.

Modern Love Mumbai Review: Love Conquers All

The series stars Fatima Sana Sheikh, Naseeruddin Shah, Meiyang Chang, Ritwik Bhowmik, Danish Razvi, Masaba Gupta, Arshad Warsi, Chitrangada Singh, Tanvi Azmi and others in pivotal roles in the six episode long series. The series came out on May 13 and the reviews of the show on Twitter seem promising and apparently reveal it as worth watching.

Twitter reviews called the movie as full of love, emotion and warmth. The netizens hailed the representation of queer love story in Baai and praised Ranveer Brar and Pratik Gandhi starrer story. A Twitter user by the name Pluto wrote, "Modern love mumbai looks real good with ranveer brar playing a gay man and his cute scenes with his love interest, can’t believe we are getting the queer cinema that we deserve. Now f**ing can’t wait for made in heaven 2. The stories as well as the backdrop of Mumbai seemed fascinating and romantic to the viewers as revealed in these below mentioned Tweets."

Users also found the backdrop of Mumbai really exciting as they shared their own experiences of romance in the Indian city. A Twitter user wrote, "#ModernLoveStory Sharing Same Seat In Mumbai-Locals is Modern love for me" Another one wrote, "Modern Love for me is dancing in Mumbai's rain while "Tum se hi" plays in the background #ModernLoveStory". There were also some people who did not like all of it but some parts, like MJ Review who tweets, "Lower your expectations from the original series. Another Twitter user named JustOnePerson'sOpinion called the series worth watching and rooted for it in his Tweet that read, "Hectic week? The series has 6 different stories that connected to the audience differently and even if some of them did not like the entire series, there were moments that they liked and stories that they favoured. Hence, if we go according to Twitter, Modern Love Mumbai seems like a promising series and worth giving a chance.
