Modern Love Mumbai release date was announced by Amazon Prime Video. The series is an anthology of six love stories that take place in the backdrop of immensely crowded and insanely beautiful Mumbai.
Modern Love Mumbai is the Indian adaptation of the highly acclaimed and popular series of the US titled Modern Love. The series stars Anne Hathaway, Tobias Menzies, Minnie Driver, Tina Fey, Kit Harington and Sophie Okonedo. The series featured 8 episodes of 30 minutes duration that explored love in all forms: sexual, platonic and self-love.
Amazon Studios decided to make Indian versions of the series in three languages which will be titled Modern Love Mumbai, Modern Love Chennai and Modern Love Hyderabad. All three are expected to release in 2022, however, the show makers have announced the release date for only one.
Modern Love Mumbai Release Date
Modern Love Mumbai will feature six heart-warming love stories set in Mumbai, the city of dreams. The series is created by six different filmmakers namely Vishal Bharadwaj, Shonali Bose, Alankrita Srivastava, Hansal Mehta, Nupur Asthana and Dhruv Sehgal. All six of them shared the poster of the film on their Instagram handles as an announcement. They shared it with the caption, "Making way into your (heart emoji)". The six stories will be titled Raat Rani, Mumbai Dragon, My Beautiful Wrinkles, I Love Thane, Cutting Chai and Baai.
The cast of Shonali's directorial Raat Rani includes Bhupendra Jadawat, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Dilip Prabhavalkar. Vishal's Mumbai Dragon stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Yeo Yann Yann, Naseeruddin Shah and Meiyang Chang.
Dhruv's directorial is I Love Thane which features Aadar Malik, Masaba Gupta, Prateik Babbar, Ritwik Bhowmik, and Dolly Singh. Nupu has directed Cutting Chai which will star Chitrangada Singh and Arshad Warsi.
Alankrita's directorial is titled My Beautiful Wrinkles which will feature Tanvi Azmi, Sarika, Ahsaas Channa and Danesh Razvi. Hansal Mehta has directed Baai whose cast includes Pratik Gandhi, Tanuja and Ranveer Brar.
Modern Love Mumbai will release on Amazon Prime Video on May 13, 2022. The other stories will come at later dates as subsequent parts. Meanwhile, the release dates of the Chennai and Hyderabad chapters are not announced yet but are expected to come out soon in 2022.
